Governments and agencies and such who seem to make all the rules and regulations that you object to are also human beings. And, you, as a human being, you really don’t want authority over you. As a citizen you want to count. You want to be more than a number. You want to have a say. You want to be heard.

The management of the world is made up of human beings, and human beings have taken sides and fallen into two camps or more and have become you and they.

How many times do you have to have your heart broken before you learn to be more accepting? When someone you care about leaves, what is so enormous that your heart is broken? You break your own heart. No one else does. Regardless of whether someone stays right with you or leaves, everyone’s heart has a mind of its own. Someone’s eyes light up when he sees you or thinks of you, and then his eyes no longer light up. He may mourn the passing of his affection as well as you.

Attachment seems natural in the world, even rightful. A wife whose husband’s affection to her has gone may respond: “He has no right,” and her refrain may be, “How could he? How could he?” And blame is cast.

Be careful about judging another. Better you continue loving. Loving does not -- absolutely does not -- signify attachment. Love is freeing. If you love, you can love from anywhere. And you can love the one you love whether you are together or not. Remember, I am saying love, not attachment. Attachment, sooner or later, you’ve got to let go of it. You have to let the one you are attached to go free. You keep loving, yet you undo the heart strings of yours that would bind him to you. Take no prisoners, beloveds.

What does it mean that life is not all about you? Certainly, you are the one living this particular life. There will come a time when your life does not seem so pivotal. You will naturally come from a less attached place. You will not erase yourself, not at all, yet what seems so vital to you today won’t be so momentous.

The day will come when all of life will be more like the lottery. If you don’t win the lottery this week, it could be next week. You would love to win the lottery, yet you are not so attached to it. It’s not that you see your life as hum-drum, nor do you see your life as of no account. Your life just won’t dominate so much. It will not be all so prepossessing. It will be more like background, more like scenery. You yourself will be more of the foreground which comes down to your life being less about you. You won’t feel the need to prance any more. You will just take it easy.

You won’t have the perceived need for excitation in your life. Even when all is not wonderful, all will be well. You won’t be trembling so much. You will be more yourself. You won’t be jumping up and down so much. You won’t be rocked so much. You will be more on an even keel. You are forever, yet life comes and goes, and you are constant. You will take the high’s and low’s of the world as, well, just life. Nothing will shake the apple tree of yourself so much or even at all. It will be more like your taking a walk through the park. You always come out the gate of the park. What can upset your applecart?

You who entered the park are the same person who comes out, only now you have walked through the park. It was a walk in the park. That’s what life is.

You have a more steadying influence on yourself. You are not looking so much to jump up and down. It is like you sit more with your feet up. What happens in life is more or less the same to you. Hey, what’s the big deal? You always do come out the door you came in.

You worry not ahead about the future nor do you keep cogitating about the past. It’s all the same, just that you are walking in one direction or another. You raise one foot and then another. This is what life seems like to you. You neither run up the stairs nor fall down them. Whatever goes on around you simply goes on around you. It’s not exactly that you are far far away, yet you definitely aren’t so close to every instant as once you were. You don’t look at life as the way you used to. Now you wonder what it was that had such an impact on you.

It’s not exactly like getting out of the rain. It’s just that rain or snow or the summer sun don’t carry the significance they used to.

You still go to sleep at night, and you still wake up in the morning. You are not so consumed by a day in your life as once you were. You’re not frivolous about it. You are not scatter-brained. Life just doesn’t become so urgent. You don’t knock life down, nor do you carry it around with you so much. Life comes and goes, and you don’t mind about it so much. Life goes on every moment, yet you don’t go on about it as you once did. It is not exactly that you take it or leave it. You just don’t make it such a big deal. You are not blasé, nor are you overwhelmed. And that’s a good thing, isn’t it?

Sometimes sorrow overcomes you. Sometimes the sorrow you feel comes from the past, and sometimes it comes from you know not where, seemingly as if out of the blue. And, of course, it can come from a recent what you call loss, or a recent realization of the passage of time in the form of your life. At these times, you do not even know what life is or is supposed to be. At these times, you also may come to see that life is truly fiction.

You want to hold onto life in a world that cannot stay still. You may feel abandoned. Letting go is not abandoning. Sometimes, however, you may abandon your joy in life. You don’t even know what exists, or you simply do not believe in life anymore. You are inclined to see this as loss, perhaps the greatest loss of all.

Heretofore, all of your life, you have been involved in your life, such a believer in it, and now you may be feeling disconnected from it. Relative life no longer has its tentacles digging so deeply into you. Instead of feeling freed, you may feel bereft, lost to yourself. It is possible that you have moved up to a higher state of consciousness, and you are having a hard time getting the hang of it. Once you were in one country. Now you are in another, and you don’t know how you got there.

You grant Me even as you allow Me to grant you. You know how wonderful acceptance feels, so, then, accept all the gifts I give you. All My gifts lead you to further acceptance of your very Self.

Learning to accept is a great thing. Accepting is saying Yes. How I love to hear you say Yes. When you go to the bank and take out a good sum of money, the whole world feels enriched. Feel the electricity of this. And when you accept wealth enough, then you gladly give it, for you know no parting. That which you give becomes more yours because you do not have to have it in your possession.

Look for harmony, and say Yes to it. When you find yourself drawn in a direction, give it a whirl. Until you do, you don’t know to what heights a direction can take you.

You may not know how or why a certain direction occurs to you, yet, go ahead and follow it. Don’t analyze it. All you need to know is that you have the thought to go somewhere. It could be you suddenly have a thought of someone from long ago. Well, get in touch with that person. You don’t have to know why.

So many of My children keep looking for signs from Me while signs are cast before them right and left. I am not directing you or anyone to spend your lifetime looking for signs, yet, when you find yourself drawn a certain way, by all means, see where it takes you.

Perhaps you have an out-of-way thought to play the guitar. Maybe you used to strum a little, or maybe you never have. It doesn’t matter. This doesn’t mean you are to run out and buy a guitar and become an overnight lead guitarist. What it means is to maybe look up guitars on the internet or stop at a music store and see where you go from there. The point is that you don’t immediately react: “Naw,” and close the thought down.

There are so many opinions of Me and how I run the world and how I should be running the world. Didn’t someone say that “you can’t please all of the people all of the time?”

And that’s all right. No one has to be in perfect agreement with Me all of the time either! In fact, until you open your eyes and your mind wide, you can’t possibly. Dear Ones, you may well not understand what I am about and what I am talking about. Therefore, how can you know what you are talking about? Coming from bits and pieces, you see only bits and pieces. It is inevitable that with one eye closed, you do not see everything. You can only see that which you do see.

It would be well for you to refrain from giving the impression that you do know it all and that you are the final word on any subject, most certainly on the subject of God. There are many paths to Me. What is your path today is not the only path available. And what is your path today may well not be your path tomorrow. Does it have to be? Also you can consider that there is no path to Me. There is only love in your heart, and I am that love. You already have what you may quibble about.

What is it you are afraid of? You don’t even know, not really. You are afraid of possibilities, poverty, old age, loneliness, ill health, your death, death of others, and life. You fear life. You fear developments. You accumulate inadequacies. What are you afraid of, dear ones?

And what do you want? What would make you happy?

You may answer that if so and so loved you, you would be happy. Yet that would not be enough. Love on Earth, your dream of it, may have escaped you. You think of your dream, perhaps, as winning, as victory, and yet individual love, in the long run, is not always fulfilling or fulfilling enough.

You intellectually know that financial wealth is not enough to give you happiness. You already know that and yet you covet wealth as if it were the answer to all that you find difficult. I bless you to have wealth. In the long run, you with wealth and you without wealth are the same.

It is you yourself who is difficult. You and you alone stand in the way of your own happiness. Perhaps you are a pouter. Even if all your desires were fulfilled in your lifetime, you might feel: “Why didn’t they come sooner? Why did I have to wait so long for them? Why did I have to go without them for so long and struggle for them? Why couldn’t I have had happiness anyway?”

And that is what I ask you: “Why couldn’t you have been happier sooner with or without whatever you wanted? Why couldn’t your own love be enough? Why did you set up barriers to your loving yourself? Why did you put off happiness, making it dependent upon this or that?”

Perhaps you delay happiness now. What prevents you from happiness? Why do you feel or have you felt that it is beyond you? What makes you think that your happiness is dependent upon something outside you when your happiness is dependent upon you?

Why does someone’s lack of love for you trail you and run before you? What are you running from and what are you running to?

Never mind what is around the corner. What is with you now?

If you really believed that time is not real, would you wait for another time to hold happiness in your heart?

What are you waiting for?

Certainly, it always seems that if only you had this…or if only you had that… you would be happy, deliriously happy, yet would you?

What is this factor called happiness and why, oh, why, don’t you already have it?

I say it is yours. I say you can have it. You say you chase it, and it eludes you.

Where is this Bluebird of Happiness? It is said to be in your own backyard.

You may already have it and be the last to know. You may have hidden it from yourself. Happiness exists, and it exists within you, and all you have to do is to pull it out from where you put it. Happiness is yours. Admit it. Usher it into your heart.

If you were to be happy right now, what would have to be different? Only you, beloved. Only you. You would have to see differently. You would have to notice your good fortune.

And, yet, you ask yourself different things. You may ask yourself: “How can I be homeless and happy?”

What if you removed thoughts just like that and changed them to: “I can be homeless and happy. Having a home wasn’t enough to keep me happy, why does absence of anything have to make me unhappy?”

Beloveds, what are you looking for? Happiness or unhappiness? What do you find? Happiness or unhappiness? What bedtime stories do you tell yourself?

What if you could be happy or happy enough to last a day? If you can have happiness one day, why not another? And another and another.

Why hang on to unhappiness when you could have happiness? Why, oh, why, I ask you.

How can you not be compassionate for everyone else who walks on Earth unsure of where to go and what to do? Which human being on Earth knows what is going to befall? From an Earth point of view, there are land mines everywhere of one kind or another. Once My beloved children on Earth stepped out of their door, cautious of wild animals. Now there are buses to watch out for and cars and any number of footfalls.

There is no armor to wear. Even steel does not work. Hard hats do not always work. Each day all on Earth wake up to a world that may wound them in one way or another, and hearts are tender.

From a human point of view, everyone is brave to wake up in the morning, unknowing of what may befall to themselves and those closest to them and also to so-called strangers.

I ask again: How can your heart not be tender to everyone who lives on Earth, in your same house or in a land far away?

Everyone wakes from sleep, and everyone has to meet the day whatever it may hold or may not hold.

This is what is called the human condition.

How can everyone’s heart not support every other? The least everyone can do who walks the Earth is to care about one another.

It is true you are all in this life together. Oneness means One with Me, and Oneness means One with everyone and everything.

In Truth, beloveds, there are not too many decisions you have to make. You think you have a myriad of decisions to make. Not so. You are to make the world as comfortable a place as you can for all the hearts and souls on Earth. You are not over-solicitous, yet you have in mind that you serve Me, and you serve the Children of God. You serve all the creatures and all the vegetation. You serve the mountains and the planes. You serve as one who serves water. It is not really such a big thing to serve. It is a natural thing.

If you open a coconut, you share the coconut and the coconut milk. If you milk a cow or a goat, you share the milk. You do not have to bear a heavy yoke. Not at all. There will be lightness in your step.

You merely give back to the Universe all that I have given you. When you have, you give.

It is not that you give to the poor. Let there be no poor. Who are you to separate human beings and name them poor?

Which man, woman, or child, or animal of the Earth or bird of the sky is to go hungry?

Giving takes nothing away from you. It nourishes you.

It is better that there is no reason for begging. Benevolence does not mean you are higher than anyone else. Perhaps more fortunate, yes. Higher? No. Make a world where there are no beggars, where there is no such concept as begging. No one is to be a burden who makes others look away.

Do those who are sure they have greater merit – do they create beggarliness? Certainly beggars cannot create themselves all alone. Does the world create the more fortunate in order to create the less fortunate?

Let everyone wake up in the morning with good will in his heart for all.

In the morning, you brush your teeth. Now also cleanse your heart. If everyone left his door with good will in his heart, what would the world be?

If you cannot believe in yourself, at least believe in Me. What are you fearful of losing if you transfer your belief in trouble to belief in Me? You would gain awareness of My Presence, and you would lose the fear of loss and your belief in loss. What can you lose when you have Me ticking in your heart or beating a tom-tom that resounds through your reflective heart and through the soul of the world? When you have Me deep in your consciousness, how necessary are these other fleeting awarenesses?

It is one thing to want. It is another thing for you to have to have. You sometimes feel you have to have love from this one or that one when you do not, and, yet, you are inconsolable.

Truly, beloveds, the outside world is nice and meaningful and engaging, something like TV, yet you don’t always have to have it on. There is life without all the periphery. Having to have is a bee in your bonnet. You will live without everything you deem essential. You will even live very well without it.

I will not say that you cannot have everything. I do say that you are not dependent upon having everything you desire. Desire is an impetus for fulfillment. It is not the sunrise and the sunset. Fulfillment of your desires is often not the fulfillment you thought it would be. You thought it would be monumental, yet with or without what you want or even think you must absolutely must have, life goes on just the same.

There is nothing you own, certainly not the emotions of those you see as others. Nor are you dependent upon all those aspects of yourself that you call others. Love yourself, and see how the world turns then. Perhaps you are the one who has to turn around, and then the world, like the board game, goes past you.

Love others as yourself, and then you do love yourself. Love yourself, and your love will know no bounds. Love is without boundaries. Love does not require boundaries, new or old. That’s what it means to say that love is boundless. Love is unlimited. Love builds upon itself. Love is not dependent upon this or that, a pretty face or a large purse. Love is independent. Love is. Love sees itself. Love finds itself, and freedom rings. From whence comes your happiness, beloveds? Happiness comes from within you, just where love comes from. Love is a constant. It is not an intermittent on and off thing. Love is its own awareness. It stays.

It is not that love settles for whatever. Love expands and expands and keeps on expanding. Love is a beautiful rose blooming. You are a rose of love, and you have it within you to climb the heights of love and never fall off. Love doesn’t peak. It doesn’t cease. Love keeps moseying along. Follow love, and you are led to yourself and all the expansion you desire. Love is the leader. Love leads the way. The way is love. Love throws rose petals in your path. All roads lead to love. Dispense with accumulation. Progress with setting yourself free.

Bless those you would love or have loved and all those who once loved you. There is no you, remember? You are greater than an individual, and you would not hoard even one other. Set everyone free. Then see the love come running to you. You are the subject. There really are no objects. None. There are also no goals to love, for love is its own goal. Love is the lover, the loved, and the whole process, if it can be called a process. There is a movement of love in the world. Love is moving up. Love is coming into its own.

How lovely are the hearts that beat on Earth. From My vision, even as I understand your bewilderment and heartaches, all is more than well. All is beautiful. My vision is true, and your vision is stuck. You come from certain premises. From your premises, your vision is true, except your premises, your positions, your patterns of thought are incorrect. Your premises seem obvious to you, yet you are looking at a façade rather than a foundation. The basis you come from seems obvious. This basis holds you up, however, only so long as you have it. If the premises you come from were true, then a baobab tree would bear apples.

From where I sit, from My long view, from My solid awareness of Eternity and Infinity, where can heartache and sorrow exist? Oh, yes, they seem real to you even as they are not real. Only through a keyhole do you see all the matters that trouble you in the land of Earth.

It is possible for you to see from a different angle, only you struggle with that. You can only see so far as you can see. You can desire to see bigger, yet you see as you see. To you, My Children in the world, it’s like you are in New York at the Empire State Building. You read the signs. That’s where you are. You can’t fake that you are in Los Angeles, for you are clearly in New York. You see yourself in the world as on the edge of a precipice, and you hear Me tell you: “Oh, no, you’re really in Heaven.”

If you are an accountant, you give your best to it. If you are a programmer, you give your all. You do not cut corners. You do not do the least. To serve doesn’t mean to just go through motions. In one sense, there is free entry to this theater of life. In another sense, you are let in and out of Earth and Heaven free, yet it seems to you that you have to pay a high rate for parking, as if you were a car in a garage, driven in and out from inside and outside at will. Sometimes you don’t know where you are or whether you are in or out. You stumble and you stride alike, embarrassed, sort of as if you don’t belong anywhere and never did.

Despite your impressions, you are full-time with Me, and I with you. You are under the canopy of My heart. Our hearts beat as One. And, so, holy are you who seemingly walk around on Earth, worrying about this and that, when there is no need to get caught up in worry.

“No need?!!” you exclaim. “I have bills to pay and children to feed!”

Consider that, in life, you are on a cruise. The cruise ship stops at certain ports of call, and you look around and enjoy, return to the ship and stop somewhere else and so on until the ship takes you back right to where you started from. This is Home, and this is Heaven.

For a while, you explore the world, and you discover whatever you discover, return Home, and then take another cruise. No cruise is like any other. Even the same people on the same cruise experience their travels differently. Pretty much everyone enjoys his tour tremendously, and yet has plenty of complaints and sometimes wishes he had never left Home in the first place. And, so, on the tour, you pretty much alternate between joy and plaints, as if they were rungs of a ladder you are climbing. Perhaps you are climbing a ladder, for each rung lifts you higher.

Some climb fast, some climb slowly. Nevertheless, in every single case, everyone climbs. Everyone finishes his tour at the same stop, and yet everyone has grown since he first stepped on board this great ship of life.

What you might call faith is My knowing. I know Who you are, Why you are. I know you ARE.

It is not an exaggeration to say that, if you fall, I catch you. You do not know how many times I have caught you before a fall. On the other hand, from your observation post, you do see people who, to your eyes, are not caught in advance. They do fall. Events such as death of the body, considered the worst of all, happens and other such sorties as illness, accidents, mishaps, happens. How can it be said that God always catches you when, at any moment, anything can befall. There are occasions such as tsunamis and tornadoes or a car skids.

Even when it was something you didn’t like, what if you didn’t have to make anything of it? What if you did not have to fume about it or ache about it? What if whatever happens happens, and that’s all there is to it? What if you do not have to berate anyone for what you didn’t want, not anyone including yourself?

This is what is meant by taking life as it comes. You simply don’t make a big to-do about it. You don’t have to go into it. It happened. You don’t have to defend yourself. You do not have to set someone else straight.

Whatever happens that you don’t like, what if you would consider it like rain? When you are caught in the rain, you keep going. You pull out an umbrella or you dash into a coffee shop. In any case, you don’t stop in your tracks and rail at the rain or try to figure out how it could rain or wonder what you did to bring the rain.

Perhaps you could consider what befalls as too bright sunshine in your eyes? In that case, you would slip on your sunglasses or perhaps cup your hand over your eyes or simply get out of the rays of the sun. You wouldn’t think less of the sun because it blinded you for a moment. You wouldn’t accuse the sun. You wouldn’t try to educate the sun.

Sometimes there is a need for poetry. There is a need to release yourself from the exigencies of the world. It is good to get out of yourself and go into a vaster realm. There are times when concrete life is too concrete for you. That’s all right. You can be excused for a while.

This is a good time to get out into nature or into a poem. This is a good time to get out from where you are into a softer realm. There are areas of life that are not your cup of tea. Don’t think you have to excel in them. Admit you don’t have to be supreme in every area of life. This is not escape. You don’t have to be a nuclear physicist. You may have to be an artist. It is perfectly okay to be who are at any given moment.

Maybe you are not meant to run a certain race.
